Newsletter / Mailchimp
Our newsletter informs you about us and our offers.
To subscribe to the newsletter, only your e-mail address is required. When you register for the newsletter, your e-mail address is transferred to us (or our mail provider) and stored there. After registration you will receive an e-mail to confirm your subscription (“double opt-in”). When you register for the newsletter, the following data is processed:
Contact data (e-mail address, name if applicable),
Device data (device name, country code if applicable, language, name of the operating system and version)
Connection data (IP address, mail provider)
We use the provider Mailchimp, Rocket Science Group LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA, for our newsletter distribution. Mailchimp is a service that is used to organize and analyze the distribution of newsletters. For this purpose, we forward your e-mail address and the information whether you have subscribed to the newsletter and/or for further product information to Mailchimp upon requesting a trial or beta version of or purchasing our software. When only signing up for the newsletter via our website, the information is entered directly into an embedded form by Mailchimp.
With the help of Mailchimp we can analyze our newsletter campaigns. When you open an e-mail sent with Mailchimp, a file contained in the e-mail (so-called web beacon) connects to the Mailchimp servers in the USA. In this way we can establish whether a newsletter message was opened and which links were clicked. In addition, technical information is collected (e.g. time of registration, IP address, browser type and operating system). This information is used for a statistical evaluation of newsletter campaigns. The results of these analyses can be used to better adjust future newsletters to the interests of the recipients. We point out that your consent to subscribe to the newsletter includes its evaluation by the provider Mailchimp.
Mailchimp is certified under the “Privacy Shield”. The “Privacy Shield” is an agreement between the European Union (EU) and the USA to guarantee the compliance with European data protection standards in the USA. Details about Mailchimp and its privacy policy can be found here: https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/
If you do not want Mailchimp to analyze your data, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. For this purpose, we provide a link in every newsletter.
Further, we use Mailchimp to send product-related information, such as the availability of new updates.
The data processing for the purpose of mailing the newsletter is based on your consent (legal basis Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a. GDPR). The use of Mailchimp is subject to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. GDPR, as we have a legitimate interest in using effective newsletter marketing instruments and external dispatch service providers to reach out to our users.
You can revoke your consent to the processing of data for the purpose of mailing the newsletter at any time. The revocation can be effected by a link included in every newsletter or by a separate message to us. You will not incur any costs other than the transmission costs according to the basic tariffs.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google (among others Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland and Google LLC, Mountain View, CA, USA) on the website. Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, text files that are stored on the end device used and which enable an analysis of the use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about the use of the website, such as browser type/version; operating system used; referrer URL (the previously visited page); host name of the accessing computer (IP address); time of the server request when using the website is regularly transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, due to the activation of IP anonymization on the website, the IP address is first shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Accordingly, the full IP address is not transferred to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. IP anonymization is active on our website. On our behalf, Google will process this information in order to evaluate the use of the website, to compile reports on the website activities and to provide further services to us in connection with the use of the offer and the use of the internet.
Insofar as IP anonymization is not carried out or personal data is processed, the data processing is conducted on the legal basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. GDPR, pursuing our legitimate interests (or the legitimate interests of third parties commissioned by us) in quality control or statistical analysis of user behavior. Insofar as the use of cookies requires consent, the processing of the information or data is based on prior approval (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR).
You may also prevent the collection and transfer of data generated by cookies and relating to your use of the website (including the IP address) to Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.
Google LLC is certified under the “Privacy Shield” agreement between the European Union and the USA and thus guarantees compliance with European data protection regulations (see: https://www.privacyshield.gov/). For users who are habitually resident in the European Economic Area or Switzerland, Google Ireland Limited is the entity responsible for your data, unless otherwise stated in the privacy policy of a particular service. Google Ireland Limited therefore is the company affiliated with Google which is responsible for processing your data and ensuring compliance with applicable data protection laws.
More information can be found in the Google Privacy Policy: http://www.google.de/policies/privacy/. In addition, you can manage your Google privacy settings in your account at https://myaccount.google.com/privacycheckup?utm_source=pp&hl=de.
Using Google Ads conversion tracking
We use Google Ads on our website and the so-called conversion tracking, an analysis service of Google LLC and Google Ireland Limited (see above). When you click on a Google ad placed by us, a cookie for conversion tracking is placed on your computer. These cookies have a limited scope, do not contain any personal data and are therefore not used for personal identification. When you visit certain pages on our website and the cookie has not expired, Google and we will be able to determine that you have clicked on the ad and been directed to that page. This information is used to compile conversion statistics. This tells us the total number of users who clicked on one of our ads and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, we do not receive information that personally identifies users. Your information may be transferred to the USA. Google is certified under the US-EU “Privacy Shield” Agreement (see above). Data processing, in particular the setting of cookies, is carried out with your consent on the basis of Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a GDPR, and otherwise on the basis of Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR, as we have a legitimate interest in monitoring the success of our advertising campaigns. You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future.
Facebook pixel
Our website incorporates remarketing tags from the social network Facebook (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland) (“Facebook”). When you visit our website, the remarketing tags establish a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook server. Facebook thereby receives information that you have visited our website with your IP address. This enables Facebook to assign the visit to our website to your Facebook user account. We can use the information obtained in this way to display Facebook Ads. We would like to point out that we, as the provider of the website, have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data or its use by Facebook. Insofar as the processing of the data or the use of cookies requires consent, the processing of the information or data is based on prior approval (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). Otherwise, data processing can be based on the legal ground of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. GDPR, whereby our legitimate interests (or the legitimate interests of third parties commissioned by us) in advertising or statistical analysis of user behavior are pursued.
If you do not wish data collection via Remarketing Custom Audience, you can deactivate this at https://www.facebook.com/ads/website_custom_audiences/.
With an existing account on Facebook, automated decision making / profiling may take place. Further information or the Facebook privacy policy can be found at https://www.facebook.com/policy.php.
Transfer of data to third parties / processing in third countries
As a matter of principle, we only pass on your data to third parties if there is a legal basis for doing so, such as your consent, or if we are legally obliged to pass on the data.
Your data will only be processed in third countries to the extent stated in this data protection declaration, whilst compliance with the European data protection level is guaranteed at all times.
Storage and deletion of data
We store your personal data only as long as is necessary for the execution of the contract or the respective purpose and limit the storage period to the absolute minimum required. Further, we may store your data if we are obliged or entitled to do so by law.
No automated decision making / profiling
We do without automatic decision making or profiling.
